Attire: Ensure the following items in your luggage: lightweight clothing (cotton), trousers, bermudas, raincoat, sweater, sandals, shoes with good soles, hat against the sun, binoculars, universal power adapters, sunscreen, insect repellent.

Language: Spanish is the official language. English is also spoken in the tourism sector. The use of French begins to develop.

Communication: In Central America, you can use your mobile phone anywhere. See your carrier for details. In large cities, there are internet cafes almost everywhere.

Time difference: In winter, the time in El Salvador is 7 h. less compared to France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland (8 h. during the summer).

Electricity: The voltage is 110 volts.

Currency: The currency of El Salvador's U.S. Dollar (USD): In all large and medium cities, you may withdraw money from ATMs. In the countryside, it is recommended to take small amounts because, in general, there is usually no change in small towns. All credit cards are accepted in major hotels and shops.

Climate: El Salvador is characterized by a tropical climate. The weather in the Pacific coast is easier to predict. This area is clearly marked by a dry season (December to April) and a rainy season (May to November). During the dry season, falls almost no drop of water. During the wet season, you can expect a good rain in the afternoon.

Documents required: You must be in possession of an international passport with a minimum validity of at least 6 months from the date of arrival. A visa is not required for this country and throughout Central America for trips of less than three months.

Vaccinations and health requirements: To any traveler, keep in mind that in order to visit El Salvador is advisable to be vaccinated against hepatitis A regardless the duration of the trip. A booster vaccine against polio, tetanus and diphtheria is also advisable.

Security: The country is relatively safe for tourists. Isolated incidents usually occur (stealing bags ...). It is better to keep their identity documents and travel in a safe place.
